Prozac and Vomitting?

Question

I am depressed and my Dr. prescribed me the 20 mg prozac. Today is like the 5th day I have been taking them and I have thrown up twice. Once was when I was brushing my teeth tuesday and the other was today right after I got done eating lunch. Is this from the prozac probably? Also, I feel really tired.

Yes a lot of anti depressants have those side effects when you first start taking them.  I too, was very tired when I started taking Zoloft, also an SSRI(Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) like Prozac.  I felt tired  and nasueous and didn't want to eat anything. I also couldn't sleep and had a hard time staying asleep.  But after a few weeks those side effects went away.  They don't last long.  I have been on Zoloft for almost a year and haven't had those side effects since I started taking them.  But if they continue with you and its very bothersome, talk to your doctor about getting a different anti-depressant.  Best of luck to you, and hang in there.

if you're tired you may need multivitamins but prozac isn't recommended because i have read that it can cause cancer, 2 vomiting episodes are enough to say quit now and ask for something different,try zoloft
