My family and I recently moved into a rental. This is a home owned by another family that will be out of the country for a couple of years. The woman of the family is an avid gardener, my husband and I are completely clueless.

There were some beautiful daisies (I think) in the front yard when we first moved in a couple months ago. However, they became very tall (easily 3-4 feet) and the blooms began to die and the stalks were so weighty that they all fell over & were laying across the lawn. Knowing nothing about gardening I asked my husband if he could do something. He has cut all the daisies back to about 8-12 inches from the ground. The stalks are probably the size of two #2 pencils together. It looks HORRIBLE. Have we killed the plant forever? If not, was this the correct action to take? What should we have done, and what should we do from here?

  2. They will grow back in full and reasonably quick so don't worry to much,

The only thing that may have harmed them if this was done in winter where the frost may hurt them.
