Prussian looking to be competitive in Piper-Heidsieck "Rare" Handicap
Prussian will be looking to make a strong impact in the Piper-Heidsieck "Rare" Handicap at Newmarket in England on Saturday, October 6, 2012. She has got a very good record and has the ability to surprise her opponents with her speed. She will be up against
some quality runners though and will have to stay focussed in order to take the top spot in the end.
A total of 15 runners have been attracted towards the 1 mile 2 furlong vent, which is scheduled to start at 15:20 GMT. There had been some rain overnight, which has left the track as good to soft. However, it will not be a big problem for the participants
and they will be giving their best in order to claim a cash prize of £12,450.
The bookies expect a strong battle between Position and Clayton, as both of them have been performing really well for their respective teams. The latter of the two might like the conditions more, but he will still need a strong effort in order to outperform
his rivals.
Position will be full of confidence right now, as he is carrying the winning momentum right now. He has appeared in a dozen events, winning three of them whereas finished as a runner up on the same number of times. In addition to that, he has also secured
the third spot once, which means that he can be competitive with consistency.
Compared to him, Clayton has got lesser experience, as he has only raced on four occasions. However, his performances have not been bad at all, as he has never dropped out of top three even once.
Coming back to Prussian, she has the ability to adapt to different situations and the punters will definitely be interested in risking more bets in her favour. She has been delivering good results with consistency and her confidence level will be high right
now.
The Mark Johnston’s trainee has taken part in 14 races until now and her strike rate is a really good one, as she won five of them. She finished third in her previous outing and will be looking to make a big improvement this time around under jockey, Kieren
Fallon.
