Przemyslaw Wacha beats Kieran Merrilees to ease into Men’s Singles third round at Dutch Open 2012
Poland’s elite shuttler Przemyslaw Wacha defied all odds and proved that he is in good shape as he faced no trouble in reaching into Men’s Singles third round after beating Scotland’s Kieran Merrilees in second round clash at Yonex Dutch Open 2012 on Wednesday,
October 10, in Netherlands.
The in-form Wacha, who is top seed in Men’s Singles main draw of the tournament, played at his best speed against the un-seeded Merrilees and remained successful in getting victory in a dominating fashion with a wonderful score on the board.
Wacha was in good shape on court as he faced no trouble in moving fast and taking the bird early from all areas of the court and ended up the match in two sets with a huge margin by spending just 32 minutes.
The lower ranked Merrilees, on the other hand, could not show up his aggression on court as he failed to control the bird at the crucial stage in the contest and eventually bowed down to his top seeded challenger without winning any game.
In the first set, Merrilees played with tremendous speed and aggression on court and proved that he is ready to spoil the party of Wacha who could not establish any lead at the initial stage.
However, Wacha also played with remarkable precision and took a slight lead of 11-10 until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, Wacha tried his best to create gap on score board and remained successful in pushing Merrilees on back foot in the concluding points.
Wacha was in complete control of the game in final points of opening set and managed to grab it with a decent 21-18 total on score board.
In the following set, Wacha was completely in command as he dictated the pace of rallies and took a remarkable 11-3 lead until the end of first half.
After the mid-game interval, Wacha continued displaying his elite skills on court and easily finished up the second game without facing any trouble by a huge margin of 21-12.
Wacha won this second-round contest in an inspiring fashion in just 32 minutes with a 21-18 and 21-12 score on the board.
