Ps2 disk read error. only on compact disks.

my ps2 seems to be only playing dvd disks and not compact disks. i got the model scph-50001. i dont know if the lense might be dirty or the lense isnt getting enough voltage to the cd. quite frustrating

Might be the game, or it can be the PS2, check at GameStop or some other gamestore and ask them about it.

Its most likely because your ps2 is on its way out.

Ive had a few ps2's in my time.... My first one stopped playing dvd's and dvd games.

My 2nd one played dvd's and dvd games but stopped playing cd's.  but both of them did that soon before they stopped reading all discs altogether.
