Ps3 299 by january 28th?

it hasnt been confirmed yet by sony but the rumor is spreading around, can anyone confirm this or at least give me some information about a price drop for ps3 coming soon in the united states, any answers will be helpful.

I think they gonna drop the 40gb because of the new 80gb but idk what price

i wouldnt rely on rumors until sony confrims it. and the guy who answered 1st wtf are you talking about?its 400 bucks!

Thomas i dont know what planet your from but on earth a ps3 is going to be 400 dollars and i seriously doubt they're going to drop in another 100dollars in three months

Don't trust those rumors until they will be confirmed by Sony officials or some serious gaming sources.

I wouldn't rely on those rumours.  Initially, Sony was going under and actually making a loss in manufacturing the 20,60, and 80GB PS3s and selling them at their release prices (which was $100 more than what the price is now).  Because of the high cost and low return of the Emotion engine used to reproduce PS2 games on the PS3, they let go of those chips and produced the new core 40GB and 80GB PS3s with no backwards compatibility to reduce the price to the current $399.  So, I don't think another $100 reduction is probable any time soon.
