  1. make the question more specific like ps3 over 360 elite or pro. if its ps3 vs xbox 360 elite get the elite.but if its ps3 vs 360 pro or core or premium get the ps3

  2. 40 GB.

  3. go for xbox 360

it has a much better cpu and gpu architecture

only con is it doesn't have a blu-ray disc player

but its the best for gaming

check out both these sites and u'll have a better idea

  4. If you are concerned with the backwards compatibility then you have to buy the 80G.  The 40G does not play any PS2 or PS1 games.

  5. The Xbox 360 has reduced backwards compatibility.

    I recommend getting a 60GB PS3 if it's a biggy for you. I'll tell you why.

    The 20, 60, and 80GB can play PS2 games.

The 20 and 60GB (both are discontinued) have the PS2's CPU and GPU. These 2 models are best with backwards compatibility.

The 80GB has the PS2 GPU, but uses software to emulate the CPU. Some PS2 games will not work on the 80GB. You can check here for compatibility.

The 40GB and the upcoming "80GB Core" have no PS2 compatibility due to lack of GPU and CPU.

All models can play PS1 games.

You can check ebay, amazon, or gamestop.com for a 60GB.
