Ps3 internet problems????

ok i have the ps3 wire and i have no idea how to conect it to the ps3 and the computer my router name is adsl router and dsl-502t it has i thing at the back called the ethernet and usb the ethernet thing has i wire alreday in it and the usb one doesnt. were do i plug the things in

  1. if you're talking about the ethernet cable then you plug that into the back of your ps3 then into the back of your router or if your router doesn't have an ethernet port (socket) then you will have to use the port in the back of your desktop but then you'll have to keep your pc on whenever online gaming


  2. From the model you give it sounds like it's a D-Link adsl router. Using the USB connection on the PS3 won't be possible. It will need sftware installed to use the USB connection and it isn't compatible.

    Your best option is to use the Ethernet connection on the PS3 and use the USB connection on your computer. The router should have come with an installation disk that will let you install and use the USB connection. It isn't as fast as the Ethernet connection but it shouldn't be something you'll notice too much.

    There is one more option, but I don't know  if the router will support it. You can go to pretty much any electronics store and ask for an Ethernet switch. Basically all it is is a little box that 'll let you add extra ethernet ports. Another router will also work, but they're more expensive and you really don't need it.
