Ps3 online download pc?

is there any way i can get ps3 downloads but not through the ps3 such as getting it off of the computer and then putting it on the ps3

ya, you can download files onto your computer then transfer them to the ps3 using a usb mass storage device.  But, this can only be done for system firmware updates, as far as I'm aware.  I don't think you can download demos from the playstation store and transfer them to your ps3 from your computer tho.
