Ps3 to surround sound via optical cabel !!!!?????

Question

i hooked up ps3 to the surround sound amp/dvd via optical cabel it does not work and there is no sound i went into ps3 sound settings and went to optical cabel but still nothing can someone please help????

Make sure to remove the protective plastic caps on the ends of your optical cable.  My friend and I went through the same thing and smacked ourselves when we realized our ignorance.

If your reciever has more than one optical input port make sure that it is playing the sound from the port you hooked your ps3 to.

It's the setting on your surround sound receiver.  You need to access the menu and change your audio input setting to "optical."

If you don't understand, look in the owner's manual for better instructions.
