Psp USB connection options screen not popping up !!!!!!! Why?

Question

when I connect my slim PSP into the computer using a USB connection the options screen doesn't pop up now I have windows xp and have USB 2.0 so I dont know what the promblem is my fat psp worked fine with this but now that I have a lite psp it won't work and hasn't worked once since I've bought it so could u please tell me how to fix it

on the psp go to usb connection press x and make sure the usb charge is off

make sure everything i plugged in, meke sure there are no dameages to the cable or psp, make sure there is nothing stuck in the ends of the cable or the psp usb slot, go to usb, try a different usb port and finally go to usb mode and it should work

same thing happened with my friends psp slim when i used it. i had to turn off usb charge and it worked..lol
