i have a p5w DH Deluxe mother board and my PSU went bad overnight. After replacing the PSU, the motherboard now powers up whenever i turn on the PSU, but doesn't actually boot. the power switch seems to be inhibited, as i cannot hold it in to power off the computer and the problem still occurs after i dissconnect the switch from it's pins. i am suspecting a problem with either the mother board or my processor and was caused by dirty power as my PSU died. i have a temperature sensor on my heatsink for my CPU and it actually measures a decrease in temperature when the fans are active, which leads me to believe that the CPU is not receiving any power. i need to find a way to check the MB and CPU without actually removing the CPU from the MB... my heatsink is kinda a pain to get on and off, and i can't afford to replace both on a whim... i need to know what is causing it before i can move forward. also, this PC is used for my business purposes, so i need it repaired quickly. thank you.
