Psychic needed to find lost flash drive!?

Question

Six days ago my 4GB uniquely shaped black flash drive vanished. As my laptop has a rather small hard drive I had stored TONS of work on the flash drive, basically the past year of my life! As I know how important it is, I always try to put it back on my desk but I've looked all over and under my desk and it isn't there! I've nearly turned the whole house upside down looking for it. I honestly have no recollection of what I did with the flash drive when I took it out of the only USB port on my laptop. My last resort is digging through last week's garbage and I dread the thought of that! I must find it!

Well if you are asking for psychic help, I might assume you are Christian and religious. My grandmother always prayed to St. Anthony when she couldn't find things. He's the patron saint of lost things.

You may have to put on some rubber gloves and go through the trash. Also, if you have any pets like a dog or maybe even a cat they could have picked it up in their mouth and moved it somewhere. Also, try to envision the last time you had it and what you were doing. What did you last use it for? Then think about what you did after using it. Maybe it can jog your memory as to where it went in between.

This is how most people learn the value of backing up critical data.  I tell my users to save their work whenever they don't want to type it over, and to back it up to a separate drive or medium whenever losing it would become more than a hassle to deal with.

Good luck with the search.  Go buy a bigger flash drive to store the backup copy when you find it.

I'm sensing it's in a care somewhere, I'm sensing a clear case. Are you sure you checked all cases near your computer? What about under the couch?

My kids lose stuff all the time, look in your couch cushions, under the couch, look in drawers, make every move you made that day when you lost it.

Check your pockets, bags and on top of any furniture. If you have pets, it could have become a chew toy, look under beds.
