I assume here that you are taking "soulmate" to mean that "one and only, true forever, makes me whole" kind of person. Although that is what most people think of, that is NOT strictly what a soulmate is. He could be one. And I say ONE because each of us have several throughout our lives. They are people that come into our lives for the lessons we learn from, or with, them. They need not be lovers or even the opposite s*x. Nor do they need to be someone we like. But in your case, going off the popular "forever" meaning, then no, he is not THE one. He is one that is with you so that you both will learn to grow through interacting. By the time you are much older and ready to commit to only one person, both of you will be far different than you are now. He will probably not be there, but if he is, you will need to assess the compatibility at THAT time, not now.
