Psychology Help please?

Psychology research is better now than it was in the 1950s. What changes in research have occurred since the 1950s that would lead one to agree with this statement?

I think:

-computers

-better education

-more experienced psychologists

  1. I think experience is one of the better answers out of those three. Obviously computers and education helps - but experience is the key.

    Add to that, there is also an enlightenment. Psychology was not always recognized as a real science or treated as such. Counseling and therapy were something to be ashamed of and hide from your friends and even if you were in therapy it was a load of c**p anyway.

    As time as passed people and people have become open to psychology, acceptance has bred the ability for psychologists to know more.

    My FUNNY answer is that because the world is more messed up today than it was in the 1950s, research is better out of need and desperation. :)


  2. psychology research nowadays is better due partly to technology advancements now that internet is faster and broader, more sources are allowed. this means even the books get improved.

    it is also better because not only is it easier to find new things out, but people have been researching previous postulates and theories and improving them.
