Happiness can it really be predicted?
Time Magazines article “Can you predict happiness?†states that you cannot. Which I believe is right, you cannot. It’s the simple common knowledge from knowhow. This article talks about the cause and effect of a good and bad experience from all stages of life. Some of the text is symbolized with the use of a food as an example of cause and effect.
The first part of the article explains how people relate things to the past for the future, which is how one learns that things are not as good as one last experience seemed. There comparison was to a lunch picnic with their coworkers. With my own observations of people surrounding me and what I have learned around them is that they associate everything with a past experience such as something that has happened in their childhood affecting their adult lives. How do I know this you may ask, paying close attention to what one says and how they may react to an event upcoming or a simple conversation such as elderly people talk about “back in their day†when things were more by the rules or else.
In the next paragraphs it goes on about how the prediction of happiness is a human’s weakness to pursue something new in the future. What I have often seen in families and my own for that matter, it is like you had went to a county fair and became sick off the rides then assumed they would all be the same. This is a process of cause affect and one’s own theory on how the world around them works. They call these attention collapses.
Further on into the observation they explained how this is relevant to the actual matter of attention collapses. This all has a key part of how the minds cause and effect works.
