Psychology of Yahoo Answers Users?

Question

I was wondering, if you were to see a question that you knew the answer to, and you then realise that someone has answered with the EXACT thing that you were going to write do you:

a) Give the answer a thumbs up and move on

b) Answer it with the response you were going to give anyway

I'm just curious because it seems that so many people seem to give the exact same answer over and over again, it's quite frustrating especially when they get picked best answer over you!

Usually give it a thumbs down when i realise they said what i was gonna say before me.

I answer as best to my knowledge.

I've never once'd used the Thunbs up tool.

If someone gets picked over someone else, then they obviously, either explain'd it better or whatever.

lol, if i answer the same as someone else are you gunna chose me as best answer? and yea people have asked the exact same questions as me i answered them and told them i wanted to know that aswell and then mark it interesting and read the answers they get

I still give my answer, and maybe a thumbs up, as it all goes to consolidate the correct answer, and help weed out the idiots.

Why do you find it frustrating? both answers may be correct but are they easy to understand

Always A. Except sometimes, you start answering a question with no answers and by the time you've typed your answer, three other people have answered with exactly the same thing. :-(

I usually give thumbs up to the answer i feel answers the question objectively, meaning i agree with the person's opinion and go a head to give my opinion as well.

And in that, case where answers are the same, its very rear unless its a riddle.

And if it is so, then i go a head and give it as well.

When I click "submit answer" none of the answers pop up with the question.  It always says "be the first to answer", even if there are answers posted before me...so I do answer the question as I would and then read the others after mine has been posted.  While reading the others, if someone makes a good point...whether it be the same or different than mine, I do give a thumbs up; however, if someone is rude and nasty I give a thumbs down.  everyone is entitled to their own opinoin and I wouldnt do it simply because someone disagreed with me, but some people on here are just rude and there is not need for it.

sometimes i dont answer the question at all, because its just the same answer, the asker wont be helped by what i'd do anyway.

i really dont like answering to the same questions over and over, so when someone asks a question that ive already seen before and already answered, even if its interesting i dont answer it. let those who want the answers discover for themselves. thats what the "discover" part is for

Sometimes you don't know that someone has given the same answer as you until you have already posted your answer.

If I see that someone has already given the answer that I was going to put I just move on.

Usually when I try to answer a question.. it takes me so long to type it all out 1.) I'm not the fastest typer in the world and 2.) I put thought into my answers...

So , while I'm writing down all the info that may or may not help someone... 10 other people have responded with short to the point answers... most of them with the same idea as mine..

When Im bored and just ''look'' for points, I tend to answer the meaningless questions,  for example '' Whats your fav game?''

I only read the question and not the answers, before I answer the question.  After I have answered I will then read what other people wrote.  I do this so that I won't be influenced to write something other than what came from me authentically.  I give thumbs up later, if I see an answer that I really liked.
