Small Rant With Question Under It

This ****** pterygium is recurring little more then a year after surgeory in dec 2006. The first initial checkup which I could see with both eyes I was told I had a small fly wing sized recurrence. I was pretty upset but happy with the results more so. I'm irritated that I have to give up going to the beach or look like a total idiot wearing shades wherever I go. I have to give up alot of things that I wanted to do but cant because of this. I'm only 15 and have had one since i was 11... onto the question....

If I were to have no signs of a recurrence for about 2years then I suddenly decide to go into the sun/beach will it come back? Will it always come back after surgeory when exposed to UV Rays?

  1. Unfortunately, they can recur after surgery.  Your best chance of keeping it from returning is to keep it lubricated and wear  UV protection outdoors.  Try using artificial tears 3 or 4 times per day and that may help keep it from becoming inflammed and growing.  Get regular eye checks as well.
