The Thai campaigners looked in prime touch throughout this tussle as they ruled the court in most part of the match and registered a splendid straight-set victory. On the other hand, the Indian shuttlers could not live up to the billing and lost this crucial
match in a disgraceful manner.
In first set of the match, Puavaranukroh and Ketlen forged a fruitful chemistry and stunned their rivals with a series of power packed strokes. They mounted pressure by claiming many valuable points in a row and then magnified the impact by widening the
gap on points table.
This initial lead helped them to keep the opposing team at lower end before the interval. After the one-minute break, the twosome of Puavaranukroh and Ketlen changed the tactics and played with even more aggression.
Both Men’s Doubles experts did not give their competitors even a single chance to get settled and confounded them with back-to-back productive rallies. They did not break the flow and kept moving forward till the game point situation.
They left their challengers far behind with an eight-point lead and placed a winning margin of 21-13.
This immediate triumph proved a real booster for them as they displayed commendable badminton skills in the following game. This time they looked bit sluggish but then few successful rallies provided them the required momentum.
Puavaranukroh and Ketlen started the beating just before the announcement of break and finished first half of the set with a respectable figure of 11.
Though, Shukla and Vinay tried to rise on their toes in latter part of the game but the Thai shuttlers stamped them with a staggering knock. Puavaranukroh and Ketlen placed a concluding total of 21-17 and fetched a vital match point for their team.
