  1. It certainly is, I am a non smoker, in my opinion, a room should be set aside in a pub or club for smokers, one fitted with extractor fans would be o.k. The pubs still have cigarette vending machines in them, that is hypocrisy.

  2. Yes.

The "local" pubs (drinking houses) are dead now during winter.

There are signs up outside asking people to take them over, if they haven`t been boarded up.

This, plus the cheap booze you can buy in the supermarkets, is signalling the death of your "local"

I have every respect for non smokers but this issue could have been handled with common sense.

I don`t think this question has anything to do with "dining out"

I would never smoke in a restaurant.

If you can`t do without a smoke for a couple of hours you are in a bad way.

  3. yes all you can smell is B O now

  4. Our local pub is closing down due to lack of customers.

  5. Here in IL the smoking ban has been horrific the economy collapsed within a week. We are so far in debt now the idea of balancing a budget is impossible without the biggest tax increase by a state in our nations history. By the end of next year over 50% of businesses are expected to close. Causing the loss of thousands of jobs. Indiana lucked out though. They are now running state advertisements telling smokers and workers to move there which is why their economy is booming.

  6. Absolutely. Mostly because the poor devils are outside the pub, huddled under a sunshade/umbrella, smoking.

    Hehe.

  7. Not reduced them, but perhaps mildly stating, reduced things.  Us humans are extremely creative.  The signs may read, 'No shoes, No shirt, No service.'  but Mate, I'll be the first in line to walk in with no pants.  They forgot to mention that.  What'll they do then??  That's about the only time I'll show the white neon bulbs in public.

  8. No, not at all... all the pubs in my area have gardens and heated mushrooms, so it's not been a problem. Nice to come home from an evening out and not to stink of other peoples stale cigarette smoke! Sorry to all you smokers out there, but I'm happy with the ban.

  9. dont even get me started i dont even go out any more when i drink i want to smoke xx

  10. Its a typical Commie law decided by Europe - not our government - designed to suppress the power of the Tobacco companys.

Our Government are Quisling Traitors who should be Hung.

  11. people cannot afford to drink out so much now, so you cannot blame it all on none smoking.

  12. It's one of the only decent things this governement has implemented since they came to power. Been to the pub today for lunch and it's so nice not to come out stinking like an ashtray.

  13. The ban is effective we have just got to get used to it.

  14. No it is not reducing the amount of pubs in my area, but does seem to be reducing the amount of drinkers in some. Especially the ones that have not catered for smokers, by giving them somewhere warm and dry to go.

  15. SORRY, but what has this to do with "dining out"?
