Question:

Public Paranormal sites in or around Gettysburg, PA?

For two years my wife and I have lived about 30 -45 minutes from Gettysburg and have never been there. Now her, another couple and myself want to go there one of these weekends and see the place, mostly to see if we can see some of the ghosts that run around there (it's not the world most haunted place for nothing). So what ; like to know is, does anyone here know of any places we can go that don't require a tour, where there can be some kind of privacy, off the beaten path kind of places that have known activity? Who knows, we might actualyl catch something on film...

Thanks.

  1. Before you go, look on line for the tourism department.

That should give you some information on historical buildings and how they were used during the CW.

I know there are a few B & B's that boast they are haunted by the soldiers.

And then the battlefield itself is known to be haunted.

Not sure how far in advance you would have to book to go on a ghost tour. And I'm sure the Halloween tours are already filled.

  2. There are several battlefields that are gated off, but there are some trails that lead around the field and you can actually go on it. It's an eerie feeling. Also, there's the cemetery, that has hidden monuments that you will feel a chill at (such as the REAL place that Lincoln gave his address and not at the monument). Many have walking tours or even if you stay at a bed and breakfast that also will enhance the experience.

  3. Here are a few sites that might help make your trip interesting:

    http://www.hauntedhouses.com/states/pa/g...

    www.theshadowlands.net

    http://www.gotogettysburg.com/hauntedget...

I have been there. Try to pay attention to how you feel when you visit the battle site. I felt uneasy.

    Happy Hunting!
