I attend quite a lot of craft fairs in the UK. At present this is a hobby but I would like it to become more of a business in the future. I have no business experience and very little knowledge so at some point will need to go on a course. Anyway i've been asked to do a fair but have been told I will need public liability cover for up £2m before I start getting quotes etc is there anything I need to know and any idea what sort of price this will cost for my situation. Thanks for you help.

  1. Phone an Insurance broker and they will find the right company for your needs. Public liability Insurance is different for various business's.

    Good Luck

  2. I know you can get public liability insurance for £10 a month plus a further £23 a year from BECTU. A lot of people who work for the bbc join this union as it is very good plus a lot of people in the entertainment industry are members of BECTU as well.

  3. Best to go to a broker to ensure you get liability and make sure provides work away cover for your craft work.  You can buy event insurances cover which will cover one off events or annual cover for a number of events.  individually around £60.00 or £150 for the year so if hoping to do more than 3 take out an annual policy.  If you want liability for if people could visit your home best to get liability cover to cover liability and workaway.

    Probably around 200 per annum.
