Public school people

Question

if you were at a public school, what do you do now as your job?

my mum says that public school people are never like dentists, doctors, lawyers and all that stuff. but i dont belive her.

Yep I was a public school student - now Secretary / Receptionist. Not a bright spark who could enter Uni. However, many people I went to school with have become very successful doctors, lawyers and even New Reader. As an adult however I agree with yr mum, Private education is far better, they have more time and the teachers are more encouraged to see better scores from students. Whereas the public system doesn't care and lets students slip through the system with poor grades. Sure even a private school couldn't make me smarter, but it could of helped me by providing more focuses education where I needed it, eg. Mathematics (which I failed).

Wow your mom is so wrong. Alot of sucesful people have gone to public school. Tons of people become docters,lawyers,dentists even if they've gone to public school. If you go to public school doensn't me your dumb or poor or even illeterate it just means you don't want to waste your money on private schools where you basically learn the same thing.

Well im still at school =[ but i have been offered lots of positions at private schools which i hate i have rejected all of them and i still have a great chance and my mum was educated at a public school and shes a surgeon thingy. lol

people in public school turn out just as well as private school students, its about how hard YOU work and not how good the school is. Public schools are percieved as a lot more casual and more realistic than private schools.

I personally prefer public education. why pay for something you can get for a free which is just as good or better?

The fees your paying for a private school mostly goes towards a nice building and hiring for teachers, not nessecerily for your learning goods

I'm a high school teacher and a product of public education. I've taught in both public and private schools and the only difference tends to be in the buildings, especially sports buildings and auditoriums. My own high school has produced an Olympic swimmer, an international fashion designer, a national rugby star, as well as numerous professionals such as doctors, lawyers, architects, etc. But surely we have too many lawyers anyway!

Public school is good i am in year 11 now and doing vce it is great school great teachers. My brother went to this public school and he is a lawyer now...!

My 2 sisters and I went to public school

I'm a chef, my middle sister is a vet and my eldest sister is a chiropractor. My boyfriend also went to public school and he is an engineer. my cousins went to exclusive private school, one works as a cashier in a butchery, one is in marketing and the other is on the dole

That is so mean!!!

I go to a public school. WE were ranked 10th in the state. People from our school are studying medicine at the best University in the country.

That is just an unfair generalization. There are good public schools, and bad public school. Just as there are good and bad private schools.

But in the end, it's not up to the school - it's up to the student. You can go to a public school and fail... or you can go to a public school and become president. Who knows?
