  1. speaking of dress codes were I live next school year they are having a dress code put into place for the public schools.

there was one already on the books but it was not enforced, till now.

  2. No, I don't think Public Schools should enforce any kind of dress code, if I were back in school and was to conform to a dress code, I wouldn't do it, even if the threaten me. It's a matter of personal choice. If there is one freedom that I don't want taken away from me, that is it.

  3. Of crouse not is public duh!! We should waer what ever we want after all we are paying taxes right? SO like i said allow hats! lets girls and boys waer what every they want its thier time to be young!!!!!

  4. Yes, girls shouldn't b running around school barely dressed showing off all the skin they can, and guys should have pants that are worn at their waiste, not their ankles and no hats in the building, and baggy cloths really suck so dont wear them  Shirts that promote drugs, alcohol, say bad things, and have inappropriate pics should b banned.  Maybe not uniforms, but atleast make sure the students are their to learn their subjects, not just observe the body of students of the opposite s*x.  You can't stay focused when your crush is across the room wearing as little clothing as possible to draw attention to her/his self

  5. I don't like the idea of dress codes at all.  My school doesn't really have one, but my parents require that me and my brothers tuck our shirts in and wear belts.  We all hate it, and as soon as we get home, we all untuck and take our belts off.  Now that it's summer, the only time you'll see me with a belt or tucked in is in church.

  6. No, public schools have no need for dress codes and that is why they are public. If you want your child to have a dress code at school then send them to a private school or take control of what your child wears. Its not the schools responsibility to concentrate on little things such as that when there is more important things to be focusing on like teaching children.

  7. I am a public school employee and homeschool my son.

Our local  public schools have a dress code but students want to get as close to the line as possible.  For example, if the rule were to show only one cheek of their f***y, the kids would show one and part of the other one.

Our high school enforces rules and our middle school does not enforce rules.    I have middle school girls get on my bus with most of their bodies showing.

So, my answer is yes.   Not only do I think the dress codes should be enforced strictly, I think that our local school will go to uniforms because students have such a problem following the rules of the dress code.

  8. A dress code yes. A school uniform no. A dress code is necessary to keep students from dressing inappropriately.

The schools around here have instilled a uniform for all students. The typical is a polo style shirt, khaki pants, and tennis shoes. If you pants have loops you must wear a belt. The rules vary from parish to parish.

Now my question. What does a dress code have to do with home school? If my students dress inappropriately then I send them to their room to change and throw out the objectionable item!

  9. I think that if parents raised there children the right way then there would be no need for a dress code. The children would already dress right! But parents to day dont raise there children the school system does and the children are raising there selfs. Which is very sad. So I think that where should be a dress code and even uniforms it would make everything alot easier. And you wouldnt have to worry about your child wanting to dress like a s**t to be popular or to fit in!!

  10. I remember when my high school went uniform dress code. To be honest, I still don't understand the reasoning behind public school dress codes (I'm 21 now).

All the gangs still showed their pride by stacking and talking.

I've heard the argument that it helps to take away the pressure of wearing the latest clothes, and aids in focusing on the school work, but the lower class families were forced to go spend their money on the uniform clothes. People can tell (especially teenagers) if clothes cost money or not.

Before the switch, the schools did have a dress code, but didn't enforce it. Girls were always walking around with thier b*****s hanging out, and I'll never forget the day when the girl who sat in front of me in science couldn't sit down because her pants were too tight. lol, I swear it's the truth..

  11. No, they should  not have to enforce a dress code or uniforms, if the students came to school dressed properly, the key word here is, "if."

I've seen them, starting in Middle School, and they look a "Hot Mess".

  12. I don't have a problem with schools enforcing a dress code.

I have a problem with a group of people (government) using force to make everyone go to their schools, and then enforcing a dress code.

  13. A dress code yes, but not uniforms.  At least not unless the school plans to issue everyone 3 or 4 uniforms free of charge.
