Public transport barcelona?

i will be flying to barcelona tomorrow and have a question about transportation:

I'll stay in the near of the station "Baixador de Vallvidera", also Zone 2 and I need to take the S2.

Can I use the Barcelona Card to have unlimited access to the system or is it valid only in downtown?

You need a 2 zone card. Depending on the days you're staying, I suggest a 10 trips one or a month one. Have fun!

I usually buy two 10 journey cards, one to go home in the outskirts of BCN, and one zone 1 card for messing about in town.

The advantage of the system is that the cards are transferable so so can sell the unused balance to friends when you leave.
