Public transportation in Orlando Florida?

I am considering a job in Lakeland, FL but my boyfriend wants to move to Orlando. I was wondering if there was any decent public transportation between the two cities? I am from New England, so I know nothing of Florida's public transportation. Thanks!

Lakeland is 50 miles from Orlando. I see Lakeland has its own public transportation so I would probably contact them to see if it is somehow linked to Orlando... http://www.ridecitrus.com/
