  1. You can get a day pass at sky train statons  or 7:11 stores  Call 604  953 3333  Good on bus, sea bus 7& sky train  In summerr a free bus goes around  Stanly  Park

  2. I think that Vancouver's public transit system runs very well!! It should be quite easy for you to get to just about any place you want to.

However, it's a big city, so make sure that you know how to get to your destination before you go (I made the mistake of not knowing exactly how to get somewhere and some very nice person gave me directions which got me very lost...lol...ie-call the phone number or use the translink website to figure out your trip route before you head out)....

Also, the skytrain is an awesome way to travel around Vancouver, but it is not really a good idea to go on it at night on your own.

I would highly suggest that you purchase a day pass if you are going to be doing a lot of siteseeing using the transit system!!

    Have a great trip!!!

ps-a lot of the skytrain stations have security guards that are more than willing to help you figure out how to get to your destination (there are two sides of the train station...one going east, one west...so make sure that you are on the right side to get you to your destination!!... Also, there are at least two different lines...the millennium and expo (there may be another one now..not positive)...so make sure that the train you get on is going on the route that you need....sorry if it sounds complicated...it's not really...

  3. For city buses in Vancouver go to www.tripplanning.translink.bc.ca.  That will tell you about the bus and skytrain system.  It's pretty convenient; I like the skytrain a lot.

  4. You'll be able to get to most things visitors go to on public transportation. It's good in the downtown core and during the day, can be not so good for outlying areas and at night.

  5. I hate transit. Lived in Vancouver before; taken it and its very inefficient.

  6. If you take skytrain, it is quite safe in my opinion. I've taken it many times at night without any concern. There are always people who are afraid of things though mind you. The only thing is there is only about 1 line it services.

You could do the rest by buses, etc. The bus people at 604.953.3333 are very helpful and will help you to get anywhere pretty much.
