I ran out of my usual brand of St. John's Wort and grabbed some at Publix. It is REALLY cheap and I was wondering if anyone else has taken it? If so, what is your oppinion?

  1. It should be fine. SJW shouldn't be very expensive anyway. It's usually about $6 or so

  2. I am not familiar with this brand of herb, but you should know that there is nothing more worthless than herbs that are not fresh, or which have not been stored properly, etc. With herbs, the expression "you get what you pay for" is always true. On St. John's Wort, there are only a couple of brands that have a reputation for consistency and quality, and they are German. Companies in the business of selling bulk herbs to firms like Publix are generally in a different business entirely. My guess is that the product you bought has little or no activity and despite what the label is, you will find it pales in comparison to a quality brand.
