Puducherry State Badminton Championship: Aruna. M ousts Dillishwary in Girls Singles U19 semi-final
Aruna. M, a talented shuttler from India, showed her lofty skills on court and reached into Girl’s Singles U19 final after crushing her lower ranked compatriot Dillishwary in semi-final clash at the 31st Puducherry State Badminton Championship
– III Phase in India, on Saturday, August 11.
The in-form Aruna, who is the top seed in Girl’s Singles draw of the championship, lived up to the expectations as she played with remarkable confidence and easily gave a severe lesson to her lower ranked challenger in a commanding manner.
The higher ranked Aruna was aggressive on court and she remained positive all the way in the match and easily ended it up in straight games by putting up a spectacular margin on the score board.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Dillishwary tried her best to play competitive badminton but she failed to put up strong show in opening set and lost it easily. In the following game she almost gave up as she failed to put up strong resistance and lost
the match in a one-sided way.
The impressive Aruna was in her best form on court as she played with tremendous control in her shots and made her rival to work hard for every point.
The top seeded Aruna played with impressive precision and manipulated all loopholes of Dillishwary in a staggering manner which helped her to take a wonderful lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the aggressive Aruna continued putting up strong show without showing any mercy to her rival and took the game with a one-sided margin of 21-12.
In the second game, Dillishwary completely failed to play positive badminton as she was unable to even return the shots of her higher ranked opponent.
In the meanwhile, Aruna remained positive and took a stunning lead until the end of opening half.
After the break, Aruna maintained her speed on court and kept her rival under pressure in the whole concluding half to end up the set with an incredible 21-4 score on the board.
The top seeded Aruna easily grabbed victory against Dillishwary in two games with a smashing margin of 21-12 and 21-4.
