Puerto Plata or Punta Cana ?

Question

Im planning a trip for my hubby and I for next year around late April , early May.We're looking for something romantic with nice beachs, but we dont want to be stuck in the hotel area for the whole trip.We're young (21 & 22) so dont want to be around a lot of older ppl(no offense).I've been hearing different things about both Puerto Plata and Punta Cana so Im not sure which one to choose.Neither my hubby or I have ever been to DR & I would like to explore but not be overloaded by tourists,which place would we most like? Also does anyone have any recommendations on nice but not extremely pricey hotels?

Hi 1st time travelers,

As professional tour operator I would suggest you to go to Perto Plata, there you will have everything you mentioned in your question. Especially if your young, you will find also a good night life nearby your hotel. Big beaches (better than Punta Cana) and so much to discover and to see. Town is 10 min from your hotel/resort. The choices of hotels is enormous so just ask your travel agent he/she will give you the best deals for 2009 (but not now-later on) Happy to help you!!
