  1. i woudnt call puerto rican food spicy...  i am mexican-american, married to a mexican citizen...but i have traveled to pr and i saw a lot of diff type dishes....a lot of soups and stews, chicken and rice, and suckling pig....which is delicious. shellfish and fish are popular...  papaya other fruits are incorporated into the dishes...   some places, instead of tortilla chips will have fried banana chips (plantains). their cuisine draws from african, taino and spanish influences with seasonings native to the islands

  2. Overall the food is nowhere near as spicy as mexican cuisine.

BUT there are some spicy foods and condiments

my favorite hot dish is Spicy Taino Chicken I have also had Spicy Duck Empanadas.

Other stuff I have used or seen

Pique verde boricua - Green hot sauce

    Pique criollo - hot condiment

Ají caballero - A very hot pepper native to Puerto Rico. Also known by Puerto Rican Jelly Bean Hot Chili Pepper.

Cuajitos en salsa  - dish made with pork belly in a red hot sauce

Rabo encendido - Spicy and hot oxtail stew.

  3. I dont think they like any spicy food, because the Puerto Ricans that Ive met and know none of them like spicy food...

  4. nope I don't even know what they really eat because mexicans have the enchiladas, the tamales and the mole.

If your Mexican you know what that is.
