Well... trying to plan a honeymoon here. Have any of y'all been to PR? Do you need a passport? Is it very expensive? Any info appreciated!

  1. Just got back from PR today!  Beautiful!

No passport is needed if you live in the US.  I found it to be slightly pricey depending on what you want to do.  The food prices in my opinion were a little above average.  As are the alcohol prices, but the drinks are usually made pretty strong.

  2. Thanks Gerry for your expert advise. First, you dont need a passport if you are US citizen. Second, stay away from San Juan. Is better to stay in the west coast of Puerto Rico. is more quiet and there are fine hotels in the area. West coast of Puerto Rico is cheaper too, try hotels in Aguadilla or Mayaguez. There are Paradores(small hotels) spread all over the island so if you want to stay in the mountains or near a quiet beach try a Parador. And last, there is an airport in Aguadilla so you dont have to drive, or hire a taxi from San Juan to reach the west coast.

  3. don't settle for Puerto Rico when there are far better options for you . Your honeymoon is the culmination of the biggest event of your lives , make it the most memorable trip possible ! If passports are an issue , US citizens can visit the US Virgin Islands without a passport - government issued photo ID ( valid drivers license ) and legal Birth Certificate ( with raised seal ) are acceptable to visit these beautiful islands , and there are plenty of hotels or resorts to choose from . If you are unaware , you can get passports processed through any Post Office in the USA , it takes roughly 4 - 6 weeks for you to receive it in the mail & you could pay for express mail delivery to speed up the process . Please email me the details of your Honeymoon ( dates , departure airport , budget & preferences ) and let me plan you the perfect Honeymoon to celebrate the most important event of your lives ! My wife & I celebrate our Anniversary ( # 23 this year ) by vacationing in the Carribbean every May , the last 9 ( including this May ) we've gone to Jamaica , which , if you secure passports , I would highly reccommend for you . Email me at gerry@snapshottravelagency.com , let me take care of everything and provide you with a trip worthy of such a momentous occasion !  Regards , Gerry Donnelly

  4. No Passport Needed if you're US citizen. Only Id/photo.

It depends on what you're planning. If you stay in San Juan it is expensive, but cheaper than the states. If you go to  Vieques Island or the west side it will be definetely cheaper.take care Raul
