Puerto Rico Open to tee off a new chapter of excitement in golf
The exhilaration of golf is set to enter a new phase with the beginning of Puerto Rico Open. The event kicks off at the Trump International Golf Club from March 8.
The four-day event, that comprises a total purse of $630,000, will once again feature the best of golf from Latin America to tee it off against each other.
In addition to this, the winner of the event will also get the opportunity of receiving an additional 250 points.
The increase in points will give the players the chance to showcase their skills at the FedEx Cup.
Some prominent players who have confirmed their presence in the event include the top tier golfers from different Latin countries.
The line-up comprises two-time Major champion Angel Cabrera
from Argentina, Jhonattan Vegas from Venezuela.
Along with this, Brazilian players, such as Alexandre Rocha accompanied by Rafael Campos and Max Alverio, will further beautify the outlook and line-up of the event.
However, apart from all these players, it is the 20-year-old amateur golfer Ryo Ishikawa who is making headlines all over.
The Japanese player has been able to accomplish some of the most remarkable achievements in golf in the shortest period of time.
Despite the fact that he is teeing it off in his very first Puerto Rico Open event, he has been able to unveil his talents and potentials on earlier platforms.
Last year, he gained the opportunity of playing 11 events during his entire PGA Tour.
Out of all these events, he was able to finish best at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational. He tied for the fourth position in the event.
Nevertheless, his performance in 2012 has not been as impressive as last year. His best up till now has been at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he was able to tie for the 12th position.
Experts believe that Ishikawa has the required skills that can help him gain an appreciable position in the upcoming event.
According to pundits, he just needs to concentrate on ways through which he can tighten his grip on his nerve and keep his stress level under control.
