I have a british friend coming to US to visit. We're planning to travel to Puerto Rico for a week. Will he have trouble coming back to the US?

Please note he's NOT a US Citizen, but will be here on a standard U.S. tourist visa that is issued uppon entrance to all Europeans.

  1. If  He  has  a  Valid Passport and his  Tourist visa  he  can go to any other american Territory with No problem...

  2. Traveling to Puerto Rico will be exactly the same as traveling within the United States.  You will not need to "clear customs.  You will not be asked for anything other than simple identification.  Once you are in the United States legally, you can travel to and from Puerto Rico for the duration of your legal status.

  3. if he is from UK and does not have an official license and /or id card from the US, then he cant fly to PR without a passport.

but if he has some kind of US photo valid id, then he could go to PR without a passport.

  4. its just like visiting any state in USA, PR is part of USA

  5. no

puerto rico is part of the US

i was born there and now i live in Michigan

  6. I don't think so, Puerto Rico is considered a part of the U.S, but you should call the passport office because of the fact he is not a U.S citizen...just to be sure. Better safe than sorry.

  7. I am a UK Expat now living in Puerto Rico.

When your friends arrive in the USA, they will go through immigration at which ever airport they arrive at.  They will then hand over their travel vias and will get their passport stamped.

Puerto Rico is a territory of the USA and as such it is just the same as travelling to any other state or territory. So they will not have any problems.

Again flying back to the USA from Puerto Rico they will just have to go through security like everyone else.

    Enjoy your trip here.
