If a Puerto Rican has a Puerto Rican drivers license, does he have to take over his writing and driving test within the continental 48 States (e.g. if he moves to Florida?) or just change his license to the new State ????

Thank you!!!!

  1. It all depends  to what State  you move in...In Florida  all You have to do  is  pay 20.00 and have Your  Original Birth Certificate.......

  2. no. u dont need to take the tests again. u just need to pay a fee. make sure u take ur PR expired license and show them, the fee is cheaper than just showing them the active license from the states. my cousin had to do the same thing when she came from boston and she had to pay 60 bucks, because she didnt bring the PR license. i think that with the PR expired one u only pay from 20 to 40 bucks, depending on ur license past history. or call el departamento de vehiculo motorizados  in the municipal nearest to u. ask all the info u need by phone.

  3. In most States you just trade it in, I know about HI, IL,NJ, it should be the same everywhere else but to be sure check the state's DMV web site.
