Puerto Rico or Riviera Maya?

Question

My husband and I usually vacation in Las Vegas, but would like to try something a little different (and exotic) this year. Anyone ever been to either one of these places? Any info would be appreciated!

My husband and I took our honeymoon last year to Riviera Maya- we stayed at the Grand Occidental Xcaret and we had a great time.  There were nightly shows, tons of tours to take, and just the resort was amazing.  We went into Playa del Carmen and even went zip lining one day.  We can't wait to go back.

Both are nice, but I think the Mayan Riviera offers more as far as ancient sites.  Plus, I think the water was nicer on the Mayan penninsula.

I'd advice Puerto Rico, Mexico is all the way polluted, the criminal rates are high, a lot of thieves and assesins, I'd not recomend you to go to Mexico....
