Puerto Rico real estate - can U.S. citizens buy & live in property in Puerto Rico? What about Australians?

  1. Just so you realize, Puerto Ricans ARE US citizens, so ....

    Yes, US citizens can buy and live on property in PR.

    And Australians can also.  No one asked my citizenship when I bought my property and there are plenty of non US citizens here that own property in PR also.

    You need a lawyer when buying property and a GOOD realtor, because there are a lot of complications that can go along with buying land here.

    Back taxes, corresponding CRIM #'s, making sure the deed is accurate, filing the deed  etc.

  2. 1. The people of PR are US citizens, so US citizens from Florida, Ny, Texas or any other state or territory can buy & live in PR.

    2. If the Australian is allowed to buy & live in USA, he/she can do the same in PR.
