  1. Dear Oops

You can walk by the malecon every night, just spectacular to see what´s going on there, different activities, musicians, people performing and singing, it is just spectacular.

You can visit the bars and world famous discos by the malecon. Wonderful atmosphere.

Also you can get a little boat to take you to Los Arcos (The big rocks) to snorkel. This is a protected area just for snorkeling. They will provide all the equipment.

Swim with the dolphins. That is cool.

Go to Punta de Mita and get a boat to take you to the Marietas Islands. You can snorkel through the caves and get to the interior beach of one of the islands. Turquoise water and white sands.

Get a Canopy tour. So much fun.

Go to Chicos paradise for a nice lunch, right on the river, you can swim right there or the other choise is Chino´s where they have a waterfall and wonderful fresh seafood. (this place is into the jungle, very beaitiful).

Go to a great beach and just rest, rest, rest, in the spectacular beach of Conchas Chinas, Las Estacas, Garza Blanca, Destiladeras, Yelapa, Quimixto, Las Animas, etc.

Experience the second gourmet destination of Mexico (Pueto Vallarta) with some of the best restaurants in the world.

Go to La Palapa Restaurant, right on the beach, get a table on the sand and feel the water of the waves to get all the way to your feet while you are enjoying food.

One day tour to the old town of San Sebastian, this is a must. It stopped in time for 300 years ago, this is a spectacular town in the pine mountains, with very old haciendas and colonial buildings, you can drive or go by airplane with Vallarta Adventures.

Go to the Art Walk, it is once a week.

Go to Yelapa beach by the water taxi.

Get the pirats ship in the evening for a fun trip around the bay.

Have diner at Las Carmelitas, on top of the mountain with the MOST spectacular view of the whole city.

Get a ride parasailing, so much fun, I did it 15 times already.

Have a good margarita on the beach, enjoy the sun, enjoy the nature and also the wonderful people of Puerto Vallarta.

  4. Puerto Vallarta is  very safe. Crime is extremely low, and while it pays to take precautions by not flashing large amounts of money, or drinking alcohol to where you lose good judgment, the average person will probably not have any problems.

Tourist police are abundant, and the local police are easily accessible, you can call 060 from any phone

  5. Absolutely! All of the well traveled and touristed areas are very safe and most bars offer access with no cover or reduced cover charge for women. Incidents involving tourists are extremely rare. By all means book your trip and if you need any more info, there is a great site where you can get all the info you need and everything about what is happening in the Puerto Vallarta area. It is www.vallartaonline.com

  6. Yeah it is really safe, but I prefer Nuevo Nayarit (Nuevo Vallarta) in Mexico and it was the most enjoyable experience we have had. The hotels there are great, I stayed at Riu Vallarta and they have shows at night (great) and they have a dance club, two swimming pools and stairs to the beach, there is always a place to eat open at all hours, and the spa enjoyable!!! If you need to go shopping just take a 25 min. (or less) taxi ride to Puerto Vallarta. In Nuevo Nayarit the beach is much cleaner than in Puerto Vallarta.

  7. I'd say you're probabl;y safer than if you were in LA, Chicago or New York.  Use common travel sense.... be aware of surroundings...the bus only costs a small amount and goes all over the place..... go shopping down in the old section near the river...... have lunch at Hooter's at the end of the Malecon or at one of the many good restaurants off the strip.....Internet is on ground floor at Mega...a large supermarket on main drag.   Go to Pittial (?? can't remember the spelling) for a day's trip..... only about a 5 or 10 minute bus ride from the main strip......good shops,  great church... stay downtown as further inland and the hills start getting steeper.... believe me, I've walked them a lot.....  good walking shoes if you go any distance.... enjoy the entertainment on the buses......go to Talpa de Allende...in Mescota Valley... nice bus drive...beautiful scenery now that new highway is in...although I did hear the bridge isn't open for some reason so the old, old road is being taken again......Enjoy yourself, have fun, be carefulllllll  Take a bus to Mismaloya or El Tuito.....great day trips....

  8. By all means, go and have a wonderful time. Just hang on to your common sense, and you will be safer than in most US resort cities.
