Question:

Puerto Vallarta/ Marriott CasaMagna.... need suggestions!?

I'll be going to this resort in a month. I'd like to know from people who have stayed there any advice about the resort or surrounding area. IS the food at the hotel expensive? How do I get a refridgerator in my room (it says only some w/ fridge)? Are the rooms nice? Spacious? Any part of the hotel to avoid or must check out? What are some good places to eat in the vicinity? Do hotels around the CasaMagna allow you to go in and eat at their restaurants? What's the best beach to check out? The best way to get into town? From the airport? Anything else that you learned and wish you would have found out sooner?

Sorry about all the questions, but I'd LOVE to hear anything you have to say. I get a vacation about once every 4 years, so I really want to make the best of it!

Thank you!!!

  1. Go to Expedia.com and read what people had to say who stayed there.

  2. The property itself is fantastic, located in the Marina Area.  Food/drinks at the restaurants at the Marriott will be expensive, but you are also w/in walking distance to the Marina, where there are many bars/restaurants to choose from.  A taxi would be the easiest way to get to downtown PVR, but the local buses (NO AC) are also a cheap option.

The rooms were great and we had no problem getting a fridge, (just ask when checking in), also I thought the better beaches were in Bucerias & Punta Mita.  You can take a cab or the bus.  But if you are traveling this month w/ the heat & Humidity, take an air-conditioned cab.
