Puerto Vallarta or Cancun.. Who can decide?

OK so here is the deal.... My Boyfriend and I are going on vacation and those are our two choices.. the resorts are owed by the same people and we can't decide.. We both like to drink and soak up the sun.. so that is what we are aiming for.. (both resorts are all enclusive, so we are set on that part) But the question is what scenery will be enjoyed more?

I would like to have opinions from people who have been to both places (not necessarily the resorts themselves but the places, although if you have been to both resorts you might have a more convincing argument!!)

I have included the links for pics of both on their official websites..

Please let me know!!

  1. I answered this earlier but just looked upo the hotel in P V . That would deffinately be my choice. The hotel is on a great beach and P V has so much to offer. You should go to The Night Of The Iguna to eat. It is high above the ocean . Ask for a table near the water and go before sunset to get a spectacular view.Take a taxi.We always go our last nite there,I can't wait to go back.

  2. CANCUN

  3. Puerto Vallarta the hotel is  in a very nice beach and service is great and lots of bars in town.

    have fun

info, activities and tours in pv

  4. If you're looking for the best scenery it definetly has to be Cancun. Both resorts are very well kept so you'll probably see not much of a difference on the buildings but the beach is a lot nicer in Cancun. The rest (restaurants, clubs, food, etc) it's almost the same on both towns. Go to Cancun.

  5. PV is nice and the Northern Resort zone is nicely maintained. However I have not been to Cancun but from other's that have been to both Cancun offer's a more pretty beach and white sand where PV may not.

Either is nice PV does have a long Boarkwalk along the ocean in the old town that I found very entertaining at all times of the day. Street entertainment at night and water sports during the day.

  6. Definately Vallarta.

I've been to both hotels and I've lived in Puerto Vallarta and Cancun.

While Cancun may have wider white sand beaches, Vallarta has much more beautiful scenery.  Mountains, beaches, jungle - and the sunsets can't be beat.  The service at the hotel is fantastic and because it is a smaller hotel you can receive more personalized service.

Also, if you were to leave your hotel for the day or the evening PV has so much to offer.  The day trip excursions are some of the best around, PV has fantastic restaurtants, and a pretty good nightlife scene.

Either way, I hope you have fun!

  7. You don't say what month.  If it's June to October, I say Puerto Vallarta because of the chance of hurricane in the Caribbean.  Otherwise, Cancun.

  8. Hi, I am Claudio , living in Puerto Vallarta. Cancun features the nicer and wider beach and some historic monuments, thats all.

Puerto Vallarta gives You the choice between ocean and jungle, many different beaches, and many different things to do.

As You are traveling with Your boyfriend I would urgently recommend Puerto Vallarta ! People come here to discover and enjoy. You find romantic places, locations and bars as well as cool musicclubs and a good partyscene. Culture dominates here. Cancun is a good place for singles with year round spring break atmosphere, everything is totally overcrowded and alcohol dominates.

    You decide.

If You want to see some related information about Puerto Vallarta see here http://www.puerto-vallarta-directory.com

    and http://www.pvscene.com .

Both sites have many additional links featuring Puerto Vallarta.

  9. Been to both and if you're staying in and around the towns then PV would be a better choice. However, if you're going to rent a car then going around the Yucatan would be my choice, great ruins, etc. However, I wouldn't go to either area in the good olde summertime.
