Puerto Vallarta weather in January?

I am thinking of a 5 day trip just north of Puerto Vallarta. The plan is a beach vacation, but I don't know if it is warm enough in Puerto Vallarta at that time. Do I need to head farther south?

  1. It's always "warm enough" - even in January which is probably the coolest month of the year.  It's a perfect time to go because the humidity is low, very comfortable.  The evenings can be cool, tho.  You won't need air conditioning.

  2. Per the Puerto Vallarta Tourist guid web site, you are choosing the best time to go.  Book it and enjoy.  :^)))

    WHEN TO GO

The climate along the Pacific Coast is tropical, with summertime—June through September—being the rainy season. The dry, hot months, October to May, are the best time to visit, and also the season when hotel room rates are highest. September to early November and March through May (not including Easter Week and Spring Break) are shoulder seasons and offer the best good-value to good-weather ratio. Some restaurants and hotels close between May and October.

    Current conditions:

    85° F, P/CLOUDY

  3. Any where from about October (later is usually better) to Feb. is PERFECT!  Now, with beach vacation, the water isn't as blue and clear as on the east shore...gulf of mexico.  But, it's more cost effective to go to Puerta Vallarta....it's a great town.  My hubby and I stay in Yelapa, but it's more camp style...open aired huts, etc.  If you can do a day trip there, I highly recommend it.  If that's up your alley, email me and I'll give you more info!
