Puerto Vallarta weather in September?

Question

I'm thinking of going here mid to late September. Seems to be the rainy season. Does it typically come as a deluge for an hour or two each day or could i expect whole days lost to the weather?

in vallarta it mosly rains on the late afternoon.

Unless there's a tropical storm moving up the coast it can be mostly sun.   I live 3 hours south
