Puffy nipples in males?

Hello, I am currently 17 years of age and for about 2 years now I have had puffy nipples. When i first started high school I didn't have them. For my entire freshman year it was fine. However during my sophmore and junior year they Became puffy. Now Its embarrassing to take my shirt off anywhere because of the way it looks. I work out at least 3 times a week, and my body fat percentage isn't high. Is surgery the only way to get rid of this problem or can this still be puberty and it'll go away by itself?

Thank you

  1. Time should resolve this issue.  If not, be proud of what you have because very few have that claim to fame.

  2. Talk with your doctor. I went in for the same thing. My doctor said it could just be hormones going crazy. I was put on Ibuprofen 400mg because mine hurt quite a bit. Nothing to be worried about I think...but still check with your doc.

  3. pubertyyyyyyyy ;] dont be embarrassed we all understand

  4. ive never heard of nipple-puff  but i wouldnt worry. There is always someoens more self conceious then yourself. I would deffinitally hold off a couple years  until  the whole puberty bit is finishedd  and see how they  look then.. THEN look into sugery if your  uncomfortable with them.. In the meantime why dont you go to a doctor and find out what is causing your nipples to apear puffy.

  5. It's natural in adolescents. Up until about the age 18 or 19 it's all a natural part of puberty.

Dont worry, they will go away.

  6. so guys have them and some dont
