Pujol Munoz Oscar wins the stage 3 of the Tour de Singkarak 2012
Pujol Munoz Oscar of Team Azad University bagged an important victory for his side during the stage 3 of the Tour de Singkarak 2012.
He chased down the 102 kilometre pursuit to Istano Basa in a quickest time of 2 hours, 37 minutes and 40 seconds and bagged his first victory of the 2012 season.
Joel Pearson of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers finished 8 seconds behind at the second spot while Mohammad Saufi Mat Senan of Team Terengganu Cycling Team achieving the third position.
Pierre Moncorge of Team Reine Blanche, Hamid Shirisisan of Team Uzbekistan Suren Team and Petrus Woestenberg of Team Global Cycling occupied the fourth, the fifth and the sixth positions respectively.
Munoz was delighted after the stage win and appreciated his team’s effort during the contest.
He noted, "The most important thing in the tour is to recover well after every stage and, of course, the team has to develop a good strategy to be in front of others".
"I hope to maintain this good performance as the race continues".
Pujol of Team Azad University Cross Team secured the maximum number of 15 points during the race.
Joel Pearson of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers, Mohammad Saufi Mat Senan of Team Terengganu, Pierre Moncorge of Team Reine Blanche and Hamid Shirisisan of Uzbekistan Suren Team achieved the next four spots with 12, 9, 7 and 6 points respectively.
Munoz also claimed the first and the second climb of the race with Farshad Salehian of Team Azad University wins the second climb of the event.
Pujol started his professional crusade with Team Cervelo in 2009 and stayed with the side by the end of 2010 season.
He joined Team Omega Pharma-Lotto in 2011 and finally accepted an offer from Team Azad University Cross Team in the 2012 season.
Masakazu Ito of Team Aisan Racing is currently leading the stage 3 classifications with a healthy margin of 6 seconds over Jai Crawford of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers.
Chun Kai Feng of Team Action Cycling if 8 seconds behind at the third position while Sea Keong Loh of Team OCBC Singapore and Dadi Suradi of Team Putra Perjuangan Bandung occupies the fourth and the fifth positions in the respective order.
