The 32-year old’s move to the Britannia Stadium was approved by the Premier League on Wednesday, making him an official Stoke City player.
According to reports, the striker has signed a pay-as-you-play deal with the club for a period of 12 months.
Earlier, Owen failed to secure a contract from any of the Premier League clubs during the transfer window. He also emerged in the rumours linking his return to Anfield over the last two weeks. He appeared in the transfer market as a free agent after serving
out his deal at Manchester United.
Anyhow, the Potters boss unravelled his delight upon securing the services of the veteran striker. The Welshman revealed that he does not plan on starting the player on the bench, and he will have a major role to play in his future plans.

“We'll assess his fitness levels over the next three days and take it from there.”
Owen has won scores of accolades during his illustrious career. He claimed the coveted Ballon d’Or award in 2001, and was once considered as the most feared striker in the Premier League.
However, multiple injuries from time to time took their toll on his career, preventing him from making any notable impact over the last couple of years.
During his stay at Old Trafford, he only managed to make 52 appearances in almost three years.
Pulis, feels that the striker has still got a lot to offer, and even refused to label him as a failure in United.
“We believe, once he's match-fit, that he'll prove he can still score goals in the Premier League. People say he played only one Premier League game last season but he was available for a lot more United games but wasn't selected.”
