The Britannia Stadium outfit hammered the Reds 3-1 to go eighth in the Premier League standings. They now have 28 points from their 19 games.
It also stretched their recent unbeaten streak to nine matches, while maintaining their unblemished record at home this season.
Stoke have thus far conceded 14 goals, less than any other team, and have found the back of the net on 18 occasions.
Currently riding on back-to-back wins, the Potters are next scheduled to face off against Southampton at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday. The Saints will go into the match after having secured a point out of their visit of Craven Cottage during the midweek,
and will approach the fixture with a nothing-to-lose attitude.
After having lifted the level of expectations of the fans following their commanding win over Liverpool, Pulis feels that the pressure will be on his side when the host the Saints.
He pointed out that Nigel Adkins’ unit will go into the match as the underdogs. Since they will be under no pressure, he said that the game at the weekend could prove to be an even more difficult than the one against the Reds.
“Southampton will be our toughest game of the week because of the expectation levels following this result,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“We'll need everyone to be up for it, players and supporters alike, which is not always easy after a big game. We'll be drumming that into the players over the next couple of days and we need the fans right behind us once again.”
“I'm sure that Southampton won't half fancy their chances in those circumstances and they'll come here off the back of a good point at Fulham.”
Southampton are just a point above the relegation zone, but have played a game less than their drop zone rivals. The Hampshire club have shown encouraging signs recently, and boast a strong frontline. However, it is their defensive frailty which has let
them down so far.
