I am a top distance runner but i've been cut off by my elements for a long time now because of a pulled hamstring. I'm not allowed to run, bike, use the eliptical or the stairmaster. the only thing im allowed to do is swim for 1-2hrs a day which is okay with me. but wat am i supposed to do for cardio work when i have my period and my mom wont let me use any tampons? I havent used a break at all for a whole year now from any physical excersize but i dont feel like i need a break cuz i havent ran for a whole week but i dont want a break. and i already asked my mom why i couldnt use any tampons and she refuses like she is completely against using tampons. we got in a fight talking about this once.

  1. well i know it sucks cus im a distance runner to and i freak when i can't run, but just wait until your period is over to start doing some cardio work out, trust me it'll be worth the wait

  2. you can swim without a pad/tampon.

most people don't bleed in water.

as long as you change right after you swim you'll be fine.

i used to do that all the time at home, its just easier...

  3. I am not sure why you are not allowed to do anything but swim?

    Who says so?

You can rehab a hamstring pull by doing lots of things besides swimming.

Unless you have a third degree pull you can do almost anything, except sprint while rehabbing.

After 2 weeks you should be able to run.
