I saw something strange this morning, not beyond belief, but strange. On the way to work this morning, the speed limit on the road I was on was 45mph. I'll admit, I was going nearly 60mph. A police officer spotted me in a unmarked car and pulled me over. The speeding ticket isn't what weirded me out, what the cop was wearing did. He was dressed in the normal uniform wearing sunglasses. The thing that I found strange was that he was wearing a cubs hat. I don't know why but I didn't really say anything about it while I was speaking with him. It finally hit me as I got out of my car at work. Can cops really wear hats like that?

Oh yeah, whats funny is that I have a White Sox bumper sticker. hah.

  1. You deserved the ticket. The cop had a bad hair day and needed to cover his head, but in a plain car, the uniform hat would have been strike against him. No foul.

  2. I would guess that the Cubs hat was worn for the same reason he was driving an UNMARKED car.  It was so you would not notice he was an officer until he actually pulled you over.

  3. haha that is funny =P

I find that strange as well... if you are really concerned about the experience, I would call the PD; if you aren't I wouldn't worry about it =P

  4. The Cubs hat was probably to make him look less like a police officer, so he could drive around undetected. The uniform would not be obvious while he was riding around, but would identify him once he exited the car.

  5. Even more weird if this was on the south side *lol*.

  6. NO That cop was out of line and you should report him!!!

He should of had a Yankees hat on with Greenbay Packers bumper sticker ;-)

Really I have no idea and when I saw your question I just had to say that simple, possibly corny, joke. I'd imagine it's different in each city, state, county, etc. So you should check with your local laws. If anything, cops are here to help and I'm sure next time you see a cop you can ask him or her.

Besides I wouldn't trust any answer on here, just because you didn't specify where you was at specifically (you probably shouldn't either, for safety reasons).  And just because it works in one persons state, city, county, etc., dosen't neccassarily mean it'll work in yours.

    Just trying to help :-)

  7. he's probably balding and self conscious

  8. I guess so
