Pullela Gopichand says P.V. Sindhu is the most promising player in India’s younger lot
P.V. Sindhu is one of the most promising and dedicated shuttlers in India’s younger lot at the moment as she has the potential of become a world class player. This is the opinion of India’s national coach and former All England winner, Pullela Gopichand.
Sindhu, who has been placed at number 30 in Women’s Singles world standings, has been proving her spirit in the last one year and has won many tournaments so far. The coach is optimistic for her that she will become one of the best shuttlers in the badminton
world very soon.
In the previous year, the young Indian made her presence felt by grabbing her first title at the Maldives International Badminton Challenge 2011.
In the following tournament, which was Victor Indonesia International Challenge 2011, the Indian proved her worth again and emerged as the winner.
In the following both tournaments including, Singapore International Series 2011 and Yonex Sunrise Vietnam Grand Prix Gold, Sindhu finished at the quarter-final stages.
However, in Yonex Dutch Open, the Indian ended at number two as she lost the final contest of the tournament.
Sindhu could not perform well in the following two events including, Swiss International 2011 and Yonex Sunrise Hong Kong Open 2011.
Nevertheless, in the home event of Tata Open India International Challenge 2011, Sindhu cheered the local fans as she clinched the Women’s Singles title.
Country’s second seeded young shuttler has proved that she can beat any player in the arena of badminton on a given day as she has wonderful skills which are required to become a world beater.
In the opening tournaments of current year, the young Indian could not perform well but her coach Gopichand is optimistic for her future as a player.
According to the coach, Sindhu has everything which is required to become a competent shuttler at international stage.
While talking about the future prospects of young Indian, Gopichand said, “Sindhu looks the most promising among the youngsters. She is very strong and has the game that is required to excel at the international level.”
The spirited Indian is determined to continue working hard and get an elevated position in the world placements.
