My thoughts I think Jens Pulver did an amazing job and It went back and forth the whole 5 rounds. I think there next bout will be even more brutel and someone will get KO'd.

  1. I thought that the fight was AMAZING!  I was blown away by Pulver's ability to take shots...he's a beast!  I'd love to see Jens go out and beat a few more guys, and come back for a Faber v. Pulver 2.  Pulver gave Faber his first real test.

  2. Uriah is a beast.  Pulver is one tuff mother.  Two of the best going at it.  Just glad I got to see it.

  3. I think Jens did a great job. The man has an iron chin. I also think he's got a stronger punch then Urijah. I feel Jens will fight Urijah a second time and it would serve him well to be more aggressive earlier in the match before Faber starts knocking him silly. There were times in the fight that Faber was letting him right hand down, and if Pulver had capitalized on that and caught him clean with a left hand I think we may have had a different ending.

I like how classy they both were with respecting each other and giving props after the fight. really great job on both their parts there. No $hit talking, just respect and a great high energy fight. And for all those people out there who are going to start with the " Faber never fought anyone, Pulver doesn't count he's to old, Faber has to fight Penn to prove himself" Bull$hit!! Penn and Faber have trained together. I'm sure they know the story about one another's chances against each other. "Faber needs to gain some weight and step up to fight Penn"..... why? They have weight classes for a reason. To step out of that would put one fighter at a disadvantage. I don't hear either talking c**p about needing to prove themselves against each other. Why do we need to step in?

  4. I real;ly think that there will be a Faber vs Pulver 2.... Pulver did a really good job... but I think that he was looking to land that left hand all night and was not active enough to win any round. it ended up being 50-44 which means Faber won ever round and even had a ten- eight round.

  5. Fantastic fight. It was interesting to me to see how Faber's style changed - he seemed to give Pulver a lot more respect early than he does to most of his opponents.  Faber typically goes in hard and fast and gets the win early, but there was a relatively slow (for Faber) start before he got warmed up.  But he definitely impressed me once he got his range with that right hand.  The right kicks to Pulver's body were brutal too - more than Jens showed, they slowed him down.

The problem I have is that there are only those 2 guys at the top of the WEC chain.  They only have those 2 guys at 145, and no other real contenders.  Cub Swanson? Forget it. You can't build a great league without having a deep pool of fighters, and WEC doesn't have it in any weight class.

UFC won't let Faber fight Penn or Sherk, even if one of them was to move up/down a weight class.  So yeah, we'll see Faber/Pulver again.  In the mean time we have some more KO's and submissions from Pulver, maybe one more title defense from Faber.  But who deserves the next shot?  Nobody I can think of.
